Created by and starring husband-and-wife team Michael Paul Smith and Gillian Pensavalle, The Residuals is inspired by their experiences as actors auditioning for commercials in New York City.
Smith stars as aspiring actor Pete Hamilton, with Pensavalle starring as softhearted casting associate named Valerie. The principal cast also includes Nick Costa as Pete's character-actor roommate, Kelly Warne as a high-strung actress who is self-conscious about her age, Mark Gessner as a powerful casting director with a short fuse, and James Tabeek as his loyal-to-a-fault assistant.
"We are really proud to be premiering the second season of The Residuals on BroadwayWorld," said Robert Diamond, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld.com. "The level of talent and humor in this webseries is unmatched in the industry, and watching how our audience responded to season one, we couldn't be more excited to join the team for season two."
Because season one of The Residuals debuted to such acclaim and popularity, accomplished actors Horatio Sanz (Saturday Night Live, The Hooray Show podcast), Michael Torpey (Veep, Inside Amy Schumer), and Jenna Leigh Green (Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Broadway's "Wicked") guest star in season two.
The rest of the cast of The Residuals has amassed credits on TV, Film, Broadway, the Web and, of course, commercials. The second season includes actors J. Julian Christopher, Patrick Jones, Emily Tarver, Alisha B. Woods, Alison Levering Wong, Benjamin Hey, Kathy Searle, Rocco Chierichella, Jeremy Redleaf, Dave Hanson, Ted O'Gorman, Tom Brown, Ian Sullivan, Brian Rhinehart, Kyle Hunt, Deborah Rayne, Hallie Clarke, El Hay Revivo and Carrie-Rachel Dean. Season one also included Mike O'Gorman, Cathryn Mudon, and David Crownson.
The Residuals is produced by Smith and Pensavalle through Take It Back Productions, and edited by Pensavalle. The director of photography is Emmy Award-winner Ed Caraballo with Sean Orr as sound operator. Script supervisor is Carrie-Rachel Dean. All episodes feature contemporary music from Rhymesayers Entertainment and Smalls Live.
